Meet Dr. Deborah deSa

Orthodontics is my passion and I feel so fortunate to be part of this profession. I really enjoy the combination of art and science and I love creating beautiful smiles! For me it's not just about straightening teeth, it's about optimizing function, esthetics and stability, and improving quality of life. It's really rewarding to see the changes in confidence and self-esteem that occur as a smile is transformed.

Education

After graduating from Batavia High School, I went on to Cornell University where I received my bachelor of science degree in Biology with distinction. My educational journey then took me to Philadelphia, where I was accepted as a Dean's Scholar to the University of Pennsylvania's School of Dental Medicine. After receiving my doctor of dental medicine degree, I chose to pursue an additional three years of specialized training in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics at Stony Brook University in Long Island. When I completed my residency, I joined an orthodontic practice in Long Island where I worked for four years before relocating back to Western New York.

Continuing Education

Dr. Salmon and his family Because the field of orthodontics is constantly changing, continuing education is very important. I believe strongly in staying up-to-date on the latest advances in the field. In order to do so, I attend numerous continuing education lectures and seminars.

Honors and Awards

During my dental training, I was honored to receive some awards for academic and clinical excellence such as the American Association of Women Dentists Award, the Preventive Dentistry Award and the National Institute of Dental Research Award. I was also fortunate to be inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society.
